What JD Delivered
JD runs Quickie’s store-conversion program as a project management firm, not just a signage company. JD takes Quickie’s brand standards and applies them to each location one by one, working out how to apply the brand on different buildings, then finalizes the design. From there JD handles the entire permit process, deals with the landlords, and on the installation side is responsible for wall repairs, painting, electrical, and all the subsequent trades tied to the signage work.
Rollout Scope
The program first started for JD in Kitchener-Waterloo, where JD converted 26 old Shortstop locations into Quickie retail stores. Quickie is a convenience store chain spread across Ontario, nested under the McEwen family umbrella, that buys up regional chains of stores and converts them into the Quickie name.
Challenge Solved
Quickie grows its footprint by buying up regional chains and converting them into the Quickie name, so conversions land on different buildings rather than a uniform template. JD takes the brand standards and guides the process of determining how to apply the brand on different buildings, handles the entire permit process, deals with the landlords, and coordinates the subsequent trades tied to the signage work. Quickie relies on JD to do everything, using JD as a project management firm rather than just a signage company.
Outcome / Result
Quickie relies on JD to do everything on its conversions, using JD as a project management firm rather than just a signage company, as the chain buys up regional chains and converts them into the Quickie name across Ontario.
